The brand
Brittain Resorts and Hotels, headquartered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is a hospitality powerhouse in the area. With 18 Resorts and 4,700 rooms, they are a popular place for families and golfers in the East Coast, South East and Great Lake Regions to lay their heads. Effectively marketing for all 18 resorts can be challenging, however, with a Marketing team of only 11. That’s why Brittain uses Revinate Marketing to enhance their efforts and increase bookings.
The challenge
The biggest challenges facing Brittain are shared by many hotels: increasing direct bookings, enticing guests to come back and book again, and making sure that their database is clean and up-to-date.
The solution
A little over two years ago, Brittian Resorts switched to Revinate Marketing and Revinate Guest Feedback. The platform allows them to effectively manage marketing for all 18 properties from a single account. Creating group-level templates, marketing emails and newsletters from across multiple properties allows the lean marking team to make the most of their efforts while cross-promoting their properties.
The results
The Results? In addition to $54 million in attributable revenue in two years, the longer Brittain is on the Revinate platform, the better they do. This year, as of August, the hotel group was able to make more than $200k from automated campaigns (like “OTA winbacks” or “We miss you” campaigns) alone! “This is great for us,” says Nicole Middleton, Database Marketing Manager at Brittain Resorts & Hotels, “we build all the automated campaigns in the group account and share them as a template so you don’t have to build everything from scratch for each property. You can also build and send everything from the group account if you want. With such a small marketing team, features like this help us save time and make it possible for us to do more than we could otherwise.” In addition, this year, the Brittain has seen a 45% increase in revenue and a 72% rise in open rates! The hotel recently rolled out upsells as well and has seen a lot of revenue from amenity upsells and room upgrades.
Brittain also uses Revinate’s Arrivals Report to great success. Carlie Stevenson, Director of Marketing at Brittain noted, “We just started using Revinate’s Arrivals Report which can give you so much information. You can customize it to show the information you want and not only does it show missing email addresses, but it shows you who has a “bad” email address so you can update them. You can also see guests past stays so you can make an impact on all of your loyal guests returning. It’s such an easy way to make an impact on your guests’ overall stay at the beginning of their trip.”
